Winfield Cuts Ribbon on New Paved Trails

Members of the Winfield community,  Winfield Chamber of Commerce, City officials and officials with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks met on October 12th to celebrate the opening of 1.5 miles of new paved trails in the community.

The project completes a loop at the Broadway Sports Complex for pedestrian traffic and connects to the recently completed 19th Ave. trail project funded in part by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and then continues along the west levee from 19th Ave. to 14th Ave. ending at the Winfield Fairgrounds.

This project was made possible thanks to a $130,000 Recreational Trails Grant from Kansas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
