Winfield Police Department is getting social to keep you connected with what's going on in our community.
WPD releases real-time public information through the Nixle Community Information Service. Nixle provides consumers with credible, reliable, and up-to-date personally relevant information instantly over smart phones, email, or by computer. If you can access email or the internet you can access WPD messages.
Anyone can view WPD messages by going to WPD's Nixle site without registering. However, to customize the information you receive and the locations you receive it from, in addition to receiving information by text message and/or email you must register to set up a Nixle account. Once registered you can personalize your locations and your preferences, making the service fit your needs.
Only authenticated agencies can securely publish information. There are four types of messages: ALERTS (many would refer to this as an emergency type alert), ADVISORIES (less urgent need-to-know information), COMMUNITY INFORMATION (day-to-day neighborhood to community-level information), and TRAFFIC (very localized traffic information).
For more information go to NIXLE.COM or call WPD, 620-221-5555.
