Public Information
Accessing Records
The Kansas Open Records Act (K.S.A. 45-215, et seq.) provides that "each governing body of a public agency in Kansas shall designate a local freedom of information officer." The City of Winfield has designated its Freedom of Information Officer to simplify the process of accessing records for inspection and/or copying.
A written Request for Record Form must be submitted. Most records will be produced within three business days. Please note that the City of Winfield does charge a fee to assemble the requested information. The fee covers the cost of staff time, as well as, the cost of copying or reproducing the record.
