City of Winfield

Posted on: May 11, 2018

Beginning in the near future (Date TBD), the City of Winfield is changing to a new credit card processing system. Anyone wishing to pay fees or utility bills to the City of Winfield will be charged a convenience fee at the time of transaction. This fee will be collected by the vendor and not by the City of Winfield. The City (vendor) will continue to accept major card brands of VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

GovPayNet serves over 2,000 agencies in more than 40 states and includes the following benefits:

  • Three ways to pay: on-site, online, or by phone
  • GovPayNet handles all cardholder calls and inquiries regarding payment issues
  • Fully staffed, bilingual call center with live operators available 24/7
  • Safe & Secure – GovPayNet uses an all-internet, PCI Level 1-rated system so your information is safe

Credit Card Payments will still be accepted 24/7 online, and pay-by-telephone will be an added feature with the new vendor. Paying by credit card in the office during regular business hours will still be charged an upfront convenience fee by the vendor.

In addition to credit cards, the City welcomes payment by check, cash, money order and also offers a convenient ACH option as well. These additional options have no fees attached.

GovPayNet will also have a public press release on behalf of the City in the coming days.
